It's official. Ben in DC has posted my information on the site. HERE Pretty damn exciting, huh? hope it turns out well. The Demos from campus are helping with gather up people. I am thinking a run and then maybe a pinic in the park afterwards? any thoughts, drop me a line.

Running against Bush
I've added yet another activity to my list of things I am doing in my life. I have become the official St. Louis organizer of the "Run Against Bush" national celebration on September 18th. I havent set a place or a time, but mostly likely it will be held in the morning to avoid those hot September days in da lou.
If you are willing to offer suggestions to the locations i would really love that. I have a few spots picked out already. I was thinking something over here on campus, but yet it is very un populated on the weekends, not drawing attention is a bad thing. I thought downtown Edwardsville, where lots of people from this area shop. Nice wide sidewalks to run/walk on. But it's in Illinois, not Missouri were people are republican. I thought downtown St. Louis, but a lot of traffic and I dont want people to die. then I thought Forest Park... nice big spot. Wide open and they already ahve a path paved out.
any suggestions or if you are willing to help in the fight to relocate Bush to crawford i would really love it.
cheers mate...

GOP and NYC don't mix
Just two days before the GOP convention in New York City the protests have already begun. Last night a bike ride through the city streets of NYC resulted in over 260 people being arrested. Over 5,000 people got on their bikes to protest the "President's" enviormental policy. Bike riders did cause minor traffic delays and ran red lights to the defense of police. But one cyclist stated,
"... the police caused more delays in arresting people than the cyclist did riding through the streets..."
A recent survey stated that 53% of New Yorkers believe that a terrorist attack will occur. It's no surprise that they think that. Lets put a sitting "President" in the largest city in the United States, nearly 3 years after the world's largest terrorist attack in midtown NYC and close subway stations distrupting New Yorker's daily lives. SMART GOP, just SMART. Oh and add Yankee and Mets baseball games and the US tennis open.
Tomorrow (Sunday) there will be one of the largest protests in NYC history. Nearly 250,000 people from various groups, such as the 9/11 coaliltion, Americans for Social Justice, Antiwar.com, House of Lord Church, Instead of War-St. Louis, Moveon, Queers for Peace and Justice, and so many more.
OVER 250,000! Imagine what kind of media attention they will get.
The fact that the GOP is in Nyc is confusing.
1. NYC democrats outnumber GOPers 5 to 1. NYC is very democratic. You know the GOP would have been more welcome in "we hate faggots-jews-blacks-poorpeople-ville", South Carolina.
2. Why hold a convention in a city that is a prime target for terrorist attack. I am not trying to help GWB here but if a terrorist attack happens... there goes your clear victory on the war against terror.
3. New Yorkers hate you... they have fallen in love with Hillary and they hate you.
The GOP line up includes some Moderate GOPers, to help GWB appeal to those swing moderates. The governor of NY is introducing GWB. SNOOZE FEST. Arnold is going to have a primetime speech. Yay more terminator speeches. All of this is confusing because of what the moderate speakers are for. Most dont follow GWB's policy. It's all very confusing on what the GOP is trying to accomplish.

IS is gonna Rock
Yes one class down today and only two more to go. I have a bit of a break between my classes today, in fact between all the classes I have an hour and a half break, which is good come homework time, but right now the first week, BORING!
My first class this morning was at 930am... I know, too early, but hey it works for me. It's an interdisplinary studies class. That means it cant be classified into just one subject matter. It's very interesting so far. The most interesting part is that instead of just one professor, it comes with Three, yes Three. Each professor takes their speciality knowledge and helps apply it to the course. We have a sociology professor that is British... YUM, he is older but that accent... my god, its just so sexy. We have a physics professor from the southern US. His accent is so laughable, but the guy is smart, use to work for the nuclear research facility in Tennessee. Smart guy. And finally we have a German professor. My german professor. JOY. So the class is very interesting already. Lots to think about.
The course entails Hitler and the Atomic Bomb. Very interesting how things are going to play out in this class. I already read the first chapter, all 95 pages of it, it's just unbelievable how interesting the text is. This is going to be an interesting class....
Oh, got a new advisor apparently, and i saw her today. Very nice. She signed my study abroad papers without any hesitation. I wonder if she is new, her office is really quite bare. Anyways... off to German class, wish me luck...
Cheers mates...
Just a few new touches
Notice all the changes... Sam and I, but mostly Sam, have been busy uploading pictures and links. First to be noticed is my picture... its a webcam pic, but honestly thats my best picture. Next is the traffic camera picture... if you refresh you get a 360 degree view... during the day you can see the arch... its very cool.. if you click on the images you will be linked back to the home site and you can pick other locations to see in st louis. next is the HRC... clicking on the picture will link you their site... very good site.. check it out.
So a big thanks to sam...
Thanks SAM...

Guys night out
Move in day is suppose to be this time in which your parents wish you well, help you load up the car and travel with you to your university. Did my parents do that?
NO....
they sat on their asses while i loaded up the car in 92 degree heat. FUN. Yes lugging around a tv, computer and a ton of clothing articles is my idea of a great moving day experience. Yes, i finally moved into the apartment in Edwardsville. I live on campus in one of their uni housing apartments... very nice actually. Dinning room, full kitchen, family room, two bedrooms... three guys though.. so i share a room with this guy named Ben... pretty cool, we know each other from last year. So the T1 connection is back! I am more excited about that than anything.
Oh guys night out was a complete suscess... It was freaking awesome. We met up at Scott's bros house and ventured out through downtown rush hour traffic... circled the parking lot, with a few minor mishaps of trying to go into the wrong garage. Its all good though... ate at Wendys downtown. Talked politics with Scott's cousin... He is a JK supporter so that was a relief and the evening was not going to be unbarable if he was a GWB supporter.
Then we wondered down to Union Station and went to Hardrock Cafe. They guys have never been there so... we went... its really cool they converted this old train station into a mall type thing with shops and places to eat and hotels all under the roof with this lake int he center. very awesome... check it out sometime if you are in st louis. Our waiter.... HOTTTTTTTTT...
After dinner we had to wondered through downtown st louis at around 1am... not fun... but we made it back and my car was completely intact so that was the best news of the night...
all in all it was a blast...
at "home" at the apartment... just relaxing and enjoying the time away from home...
cheers mates
Intelligence a turn on?
There is something I find irresistibility attractive in a person. It’s not their baby blue eyes, or their dimpled smile. It’s not their soft hair or their dumbo ears. It’s their intelligence. If you were to put to similar guys in appearance next to each other, both of them liking me equal amounts. The guy on the right has the cuter smile, the better eyes, the softer hair and has the average American intelligence IQ of around 100 to 110. The guy on the left has very nice looks but not quite as nice looking but has an IQ of about 130, after talking to both guys I would definitely go for the smarter guy. Something about guys talking about science, politics, social issues, and anything else with some knowledge turns me on.
Last night I was talking to Scottie and Sam. Two very intelligent conversations at the same time. In fact I tend to like multitasking intelligent conversations better. Sam and I were talking about how I would choose a choice in my life with the influence of religion. Very interesting in how I would pick choices and decisions about my life if I had a greater influence of religion. Scottie and I were talking about how evolution and the brain functions. That led to social issues, like I always lead the conversation to. But although these two conversations were different they both were similar too, and they both simulated my brain to think again. I guess for some reason I see this thinking about issues and hearing others views and opinions as my way to resist Alzheimer’s disease.
So Scottie made a pretty interesting point. I asked why he thinks that intelligence turns me on, makes me get a “hardon.” He said it probably is some primal behavior that is similar to the hunter and gather period. In which early humans were excited by the chase. Got their blood pumping and their heart racing. I guess “hunting” for intelligence does similar things to me too. So is my hunt for intelligence linked to my primal behavior? I don’t know. But I am willing to go with that for now.
But I am curious what turns everyone else on? It can be physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.
*side note* tomorrow is move in day... that means today is packing day... god i have a lot of crap.
Cheers mates
Sitting around never sounded so nice
This Friday has become my guys night out. I am going out with Amanda's boyfriend and his cousin and we are going to just hang out downtown. I havent done a traditional guys night out ever. The thing is that it wont involve drinking, since Scott doesnt drink, I cant yet, and well i dont know about Scott's cousin, and really whats the point of just one guy drinking? I guess we could get him drunk and make him look like an ass, but that is only so much fun. I think we are going to do the HardRock Cafe thing at Union Station.
Yeah it's nice to finally get a day off during the week. I have got so much done today. Lets see what did I do today....
1. Slept in until 9am....
2. Cut grass and bushes
3. Took an hour and a half long nap
4. Watched the local news with the sexy anchor.
5. Played Simcity
Yeah exciting huh? Hey its all GREAT to me.
I was talking to my boss last night (the american one) and he and I were talking about Australia. By the way, OZ is always a go, no matter what comes up, OZland is always a go! PROMISE. But he was telling me that his aunt was a missionary in the western part of the country a few years back and she showed him pictures of her sitting on the porch with a rifle shooting at kangaroos.
WHOA...
I didnt realize they were fierce animals that needed to be shot, they tend to remind me of very large squirrels. But then again, most of the times squirrels get on my nerves and i want to shoot them too, but the whole not liking guns part changes my mind and i just walk around them. They think they own the sidewalks at uni, and the geese... they are worse.
Cheers mates
Bacio!
So the queer part of me came out clear as day in a non-summer hazy summer month. I watched “Under the Tuscan Sun.” Who could resist a romantic comedy? It got me thinking though. I have always wanted to learn a third language. I know some German, and continuously working on that, but what else would be a cool language to learn? I really don’t care for Spanish. I know it’s a really popular second language to learn because of our vast Mexican population here in the US, but I really don’t care for it. I thought maybe French, but really who cares about French? Yes it is a sexy language but the only thing that French is used for now a days is the United Nations and the Olympics, and several European countries, some African countries but really, it's a weird and stupid language, well at least to me.
Maybe Russian? Maybe Greek? Maybe a Far East language… and then it hit me… what is the sexiest language on the Earth? I know I have the skin, the dark hair colour but I still need to work on that 5 o’clock shadow, because those are fucking sexy. Italian! I do believe they offer it at my university. But it will have to wait until after I come back from the land down under.
I am very excited, only one more semester until I leave. I have about 4 tons of paperwork waiting for me at my university when I return next week. And that is only half of it. JOY. The hazards of studying abroad.
School starts in a week or so, and I am very excited. Can’t wait to get back to intelligent conversations with individuals instead of the drive through people via a tiny black box. I am sticking around TRUE for just a part time job so I can spend money without feeling guilty and not dipping into savings and the OZ fund. It’s just three nights a week from 6pm to 11pm. So not that bad.
Cheers Mates
Cooler Heads Prevailed
Ah, so dad didnt quite react the way I had prepared for. He was beyond calm. It is almost too eeire how calmly he reacted. I think in his older age he is realizing that yelling and screaming fixes nothing and just makes the situation worse in that it makes everyone feel worse. I think he is settling down a bit in his older age, and that is a very good thing. So we are getting the oldest lawnmower we have out of storage and fixing it up... rather putting bandads on it until next year when we are planning on buying a new lawnmower. So it definitely feels like a ton of bricks have been lifted off my chest, and now i am sleeping beyond better. I took a nap today and I went right to dreamland, without those nasty nightmares of planes crashing and the earth freezing over... wait that will happen if Bush is elected for the first time.
I LOVE the Olympics... espeically gymnastics, diving, swimming, and volleyball! Could they be any hotter?
School starts in less than a week, well at least I am able to move in a week. I am beyond excited. This semester is going to fly by, and I cant wait.
We were out at my dad's friends house and he lives out in the country where we will be moving and I cant help but think how exciting it will be to finally get to see the stars again! They are so pretty. Makes you feel very lost in a good way, looking up and seeing all those stars, wondering... its just an amazing feeling.
I should have stayed in bed yesterday
Yesterdays bad day went from bad to worse to horribly catastrophic. Not only is the main lawnmower broken, it is going to cost between a thousand and and two thousand to fix, much more than I first thought.
The problem is not entirely my fault, something punchered the oil pan on the lawnmower and it was leaking oil but I didnt realize it was, so yeah, it seized up. So i am down to one lawnmower, a huge bill, and the fact that i am wrestling with whether i should tell my dad or not?
See this kind of thing has happened before, although the first time wasnt my fault it was the companies i just happened to be on the lawnmower at the time of the incident. My dad is going to be so pissed.
This could ruin my chances of ever seeing Australia.
I am thinking about working part time at the factory while going to school and cutting grass... its going to be hard but frankly i dont have an extra 2k just laying around to fix a mower...
Maybe tomorrow will be a better day...
Why travel?
I’ve been thinking lately, why am I going to Australia? Most people would claim they study abroad or travel to other countries for extended periods of time in order to experience other cultures. They want to expand their culture and their open mindedness. People go to meet new friends. They go to see how their career fields work in other countries. Yeah that’s great, but why am I going?
I think I am going in order to find myself. I am going because I am not happy here. And not the “I have a boyfriend and a great job and school is going well” happy, but a general all around happiness. I think that I am going in order to really see if I “belong” here or it’s just a stepping-stone for the next greater goal.
But what am I going to find in Australia that I can’t find here? Well it comes down to personal taste. A survey said that most people tend to settle down in places they feel comfortable in, socially, economically, and politically. Maybe this midwestern lifestyle isn’t for me. Maybe I will find myself in Australia, feel comfortable. I have always said that I feel like a west coast soul trapped in a midwestern body. Or maybe I will find out that I am more likely to continuously move about, settling in a place, soaking up the lifestyle and moving on.
So am I putting too much pressure on Australia to deliver a great settling down spot for me? I think that all Australia has to do is prove its something different that what I have experienced for the last 21 years.
Talked to the new roomie today. He seems pretty cool, although so did Mike, and well we all know were that boat led to. It wasn't a pretty site regurding political and social views. They really should ask you if you are a democrat or a republican on your uni housing forms. So I devised a list of questions that uni housing forms should include:
1. Do you like the same sex?
2. Are you a progressive thinking Democrat or a hate filled evil Republican?
3. Do you hate the president with a firey passion?
4. Will you stay up until 5am sitting at your desk making unnessessary noices when you know your roommate has to get up and go to class at 7am?
5. Will you party on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and/or Thursdays?
6. Will you take 2 hour long showers in that way wasting and using all the hot water for the building?
7. Do you hate everyone that isn't white, rich, and republican?
8. Will you send your roommate pictures of girls naked via "girls gone wild"?
9. Do you make disgusting noices with snot?
10. Will you make out while your roommate is trying to study for a test?
11. Do you turn your computer's radio up to the point in which the campus police are called?
So the roomie has been living in our apartment for the summer session. How nice to have a whole apartment to yourself, much less a whole building. I am contemplating what his name means... is it a family name, or is it a "southern" name... its GLEN. hmmmm...does Glen stand for something, is it shortened?
Anyways, two weeks from last friday until move in day. Friday Aug 20th is the first move in day, but i have a baseball game so i will be moving in on Saturday. Finally get that lovely, amazing, sweet, orgasmic T1 connection back... and you know i will be "borrowing" music and watching videos via the web.
BTW matt the new layout is pretty colourful... nice!
"Bigots 'R Us" opening new sites around the world?
